Luke 11:2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth
God can adopt us through the sacrifice of Christ, He is our Father then.
Proverbs 23:
12 Apply thine heart unto instruction, and thine ears to the words of knowledge.
13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.
14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.
Hell is death, the wage of sin is death. God spares our life through the rod.
Death is not only hell, death is every thing that will downgrade your life and existence, block you from growing as a child of God, becoming an adult one day.
When we will meet God, He will end the work he began in us.
But we have to work here and now, to make sure that there will be something to harvest, ensure its quality and quantity.
Jesus Christ is the firstfruits, we are called to be like him, He is our model and God will mold us in His likeness.
Each one of us is a unique individual, a unique creation with unique qualities and capabilities, and our unique behavior with our Lord explains why some are punished, others not, and in different manners.
He won't pur us in situations we cannot handle.
Or maybe He will make sure that we can handle the situations He will put us through.
Those destined to perish have a different treatment. They won't suffer for things that believers had to pay for. They already have their recompense on this life, God is not cruel.
The best thing to do is to ask God for instruction, correction. Be careful to the signs He will put in our life, His language. Check every event of our life, search for God's instructions.
Hebrews 12:
6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
Be a good son. When one has children, he fully understands that.
